BATAVIA, ILL. (July 25, 6:10 p.m. EDT) -- Portola Packaging Inc., one of the largest makers of tamper-evident closures and plastic containers for water, juice and dairy products, will enter a restructuring support agreement.

LANCASTER, PA. (July 25, 6 p.m. EDT) -- Lancaster-based injection molder MXL Industries Inc. is under new ownership after a group of upper-level managers bought the company from National Patent Development Corp., a distributor of home-improvement products and hardware.

Fabri-Kal gets tax break for investment
KALAMAZOO, MICH. (July 25, 6:55 p.m. EDT) -- Kalamazoo officials will grant a property tax abatement to Fabri-Kal Corp. to enable the Kalamazoo thermoformer to relocate part of its operations.

N.H. contract molder invests in expansion
MERRIMACK, N.H. (July 25, 5:50 p.m. EDT) -- Contract molder Tech NH Inc. recently completed a 7,000-square-foot addition to its Merrimack plant and installed a 780-ton Nissei injection press. The company also plans to add a 700-square-foot clean room by the end of August.
