EPC acquiring plant from bankrupt Blue Water
ST. CLAIR, MICH. (Aug. 28, 3:20 p.m. EDT) -- Blue Water Automotive Systems Inc., which entered Chapter 11 protection in February, has reached a deal to sell one of its Michigan plants to Engineered Plastic Components Inc.

Auto supplier Cadence files for Chapter 11
TROY, MICH. (Aug. 26, 1:40 p.m. EDT) -- Auto supplier Cadence Innovation LLC, which was created out of the remnants of a bankrupt molder, has filed for Chapter 11 protection with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Del., citing rising resin costs and a faltering North American auto market.

Schulman may sell Invision sheet business

FAIRLAWN, OHIO (Aug. 18, 12:30 p.m. EDT) -- A. Schulman Inc. has placed its Invision-brand sheet business on the selling block. Officials with Fairlawn-based Schulman — a major compounder — said in an Aug. 18 news release that the firm “is seeking a joint venture partner or other strategic arrangements” for the business.

Blue Water, in last-ditch talks, names closing date
MARYSVILLE, MICH. (Aug. 15, 2:55 p.m. EDT) -- Blue Water Automotive Systems Inc. said this week it will shut down its U.S. molding operations as of Aug. 29. Still, sources say Blue Water is continuing talks with potential buyers in last-minute attempts to keep at least one factory open.
