Super Films AS of Gaziantep, Turkey, has established an office in Worthington, Ohio, to sell its biaxially oriented polypropylene films into the U.S. market.

Called Super Films of America, the 2-month-old outfit made its U.S. debut at Pack Expo. President Faith Basel said the Turkish firm has no immediate plans to open a U.S. warehouse for the OPP films, used mainly in food packaging.

By year's end at Gaziantep, the family-owned firm will have roughly 66 million pounds of capacity for the films, which it now sells into the Middle East and Europe. Part of the Sanko Group of Cos., also of Gaziantep, Super Films has been in production since late 1995.

Products include coextruded, heat-sealable, vacuum-metalized and pearlized opaque BOPP films.
