WAYNE EXTRUDER HELPS CUT WARM-UP DELAYS

Wayne Machine & Die Co. of Totowa, N.J., introduced a ``standby mode'' to its Yellow Jacket extruders that solves the issue of delays during warm-up and eliminates shutdown purging procedures processors face between shifts and when extruding high-temperature resins.

The extruder cools below the melting point of the polymer to prevent degradation, but stays warm enough to heat up quickly to operating temperatures when the next shift begins.
