Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd. opened its first regional technical center in the Asia-Pacific region, in Yokohama, Japan.

The injection press maker's 1,980-square-foot facility offers processors in Japan training, equipment demonstrations, a center for service and spare parts and a place to try molds, resin and prototype parts.

In technology news, the Bolton, Ontario, company introduced Absolute Part Tracking as an option when using its Moduline top-entry robots. APT enables the robot to follow the machine's clamp motion so the motion to take out parts can begin in advance of full mold open.
