SAO PAULO, BRAZIL— Polialden Petroquimica SA of Sao Paulo is near completing a $9.2 million debottlenecking to expand its high density and ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylene operation.

The investment will result in a 25 percent increase in production capacity, to 330 million pounds per year, by early April, said JoÌo Carlos Piazi, marketing and development manager.

Polialden is near Copene Petroquimica do Nordeste SA, one of the petrochemical compound supplying centers in Brazil.

``Polialden will take advantage of Copene's periodic maintenance stop, in March, to install the last equipment and perform final adjustments,'' said Piazi, who would not specify the type of machines.
