PIPE SYSTEM MAKES FOAMED-CORE PVC

Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik Gmbh of Bad Oeynhausen, Germany, introduced modular extrusion systems to make foamed-core PVC pipe. The new system results from Battenfeld's 1995 acquisition of American Maplan Corp. of McPherson, Kan.

The system relies on a coextrusion adapter with runners specially designed to process PVC. The adapter can handle two or three extruders. The firm said the system can cut costs for pipe 25-450 millimeters in diameter.
