PACKAGE MAKER CLOSING ROCHESTER PLANT

NORTH VERSAILLES, PA. — Precise Technology Inc. will close its 75,000-square-foot Rochester, N.Y., custom injection molding plant and transfer the equipment and work to other locations.

The Rochester plant makes consumer and industrial packaging, office supply products and pipe fittings, and employs 40.

The North Versailles firm expanded its molding and mold-making last year with the purchase of Tredegar Molded Products Co. Precise operates molding plants in St. Petersburg, Fla.; Excelsior Springs, Mo.; South Grafton, Mass.; West Lafayette, Ind.; Pittsburgh; Chicago; and Newark, Del. Mold-making facilities are in Pittsburgh, Chicago and St. Petersburg.

The consolidation is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 1997, when the firm plans to sell the facility.
