SARASOTA, FLA. — Thermoformer World Precision Inc. of Sarasota will be adding a 5-foot-by-10-foot, five-axis router within the next month and is looking to buy a larger facility later this year.
The $135,000 computerized router will help in production, said Vice President Joe Pawloske. It will do trimming now done by hand and be able to perform three-dimensional modeling.
With six employees, World Precision has four vacuum formers and a model shop. The company's main business is prototyping and high-tolerance precision work, Pawloske said. World Precision serves the aircraft, industrial and consumer products industries. The 5-year-old firm has several military contracts and is a certified supplier for Lockheed Martin.
Within the year, World Precision would like to buy a plant with 10,000-15000 square feet of space in Sarasota. Currently, the firm farms out injection molding business and would like to bring that in-house.
``It all depends on time and funds,'' Pawloske said.
The firm reported thermoforming sales of $500,000 last year.
