Connecticut plastics machining firm Eastern Plastics Inc. has doubled in size by moving from its Plainville factory to Bristol, a $2 million investment that gives the company 27,000 square feet, according to President Tom Brackett.

The company added nine new milling machines and grew from 75 to 95 people in the move.

About 90 percent of the machining firm's business is medical-related, including work on blood-testing equipment and diagnostic machines, said Brackett.

The company has sales of about $11 million a year and is seeing growth in all segments of its market, he said during a Feb. 11 interview.
