ALLOYD CO. INC. — James Silkwood was named vice president and chief financial officer of the DeKalb, Ill., packaging thermoformer and machine maker. He was director of mergers and acquisitions for Brunswick Corp. of Chicago.

ALLPLAX INC. — Dan Pszonka was named general manager of Allplax, a Carlstadt, N.J., plastics thermoforming division of Pioneer Paper Corp.

AMERICAN PLASTICS COUNCIL —Roger Bernstein has been named vice president, state government affairs, for the Washington-based group. Bernstein will continue to manage the joint Society of the Plastics Industry Inc./APC state government affairs operations.

CHEMICAL MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION — The Arlington, Va., trade group named Kathleen Ambrose to the newly created position of vice president, international affairs. Before joining CMA, Ambrose had been counselor for international trade policy in the Commerce Department's Market Access and Compliance Office.

JOHN CRANE INTERNATIONAL — Clive Stearnes was named chief executive officer of the polymer division of London-based TI Group, a specialty engineering and aerospace firm. Stearnes formerly was CEO of the polymer operations of the United Kingdom conglomerate BTR plc of London.

CRANE PLASTICS CO. — Stephen Cork was named vice president, custom and major accounts, for the Columbus, Ohio, custom profile extruder and vinyl siding manufacturer.

ECHLIN INC. — Larry McCurdy was named president, chief executive officer and a director at the Branford, Conn., automotive parts manufacturer. He had been president of the company from 1982-85. Most recently he was executive vice president of the automotive products segment of Cooper Industries Inc.

KIPPGROUP — Douglas Stangle has been named an area manager in Buffalo Grove, Ill., for the Ontario, Calif.-based injection molder of health-care products.

HUNTSMAN CORP. — J. Kimo Esplin was named senior vice president and chief financial officer of the Salt Lake City-based resin manufacturer, and Richard Durham was named president and chief executive officer of its packaging subsidiary, Huntsman Packaging Corp. Durham was CFO and co-president of the parent company; Esplin was vice president-treasurer.

LAWSON MARDON PACKAGING LTD. — Ian Gunn, managing director of Lawson Mardon Packaging-Flexibles U.K., was appointed chief operating officer of LMP's United Kingdom food business. LMP is owned by Alusuisse-Lonza Holdings of Zurich, Switzerland.

NATIONAL TOOLING AND MACHINING ASSOCIATION — Richard Wills, president of D&H Manufacturing Co. in Fremont, Calif., has been named 1997 NTMA chairman. Wills helped open NTMA's training center in Santa Clara, Calif., and developed the indentured NTMA apprenticeship program in the San Francisco area. Wills replaces Roland Sutton, president of Maine Machine Products in South Paris, Maine. Also installed as officers were: first vice chairman, David Dudon, president of Mutual Tool & Die Inc. in Dayton, Ohio; second vice chairman, David Rasmussen, president of PQ Enterprise LLC in Grand Rapids, Mich.; and secretary-treasurer, Roger Sustar, president of Fredon Corp. in Mentor, Ohio.

RPC GROUP PLC — Philip Hilton was named to the board of RPC, the Raunds, England-based plastics packaging unit of Schmalbach-Lubeca AG. Hilton has been general manager of RPC's Oakham, England, injection molding plant for three years.

QUAKER PLASTIC CORP. — Mark Steller was named vice president of sales for the Mountville, Pa., custom extruder and thermoformer.

ULTRA PAC INC. — William Howard was named chief operating officer for the Minneapolis-based manufacturer of food packaging. Howard, who was senior vice president, business development, for GE Capital, succeeds board member Thomas Rains, who had been acting COO since October.

WADDINGTON PLC — David Perry, chairman of the Leeds, England, packaging firm, will retire July 25 after 16 years with the firm. He became chief executive officer in 1988 and chairman in 1993. Michael Orr, who will join the board as a nonexecutive director in April, will replace him.


Dale Reeves was named director of sales and marketing for John Brown Plastics Machinery's Fremont, Ohio-based EPCO DIVISION, which remanufactures injection and blow molding equipment. ... Michael Clay was named vice president, sales, for PELLETRON CORP., a Lancaster, Pa., maker of dust-removal equipment. ... White Plains, N.Y.-based resin compounder and distributor H. HELLER & CO. INC. named Joseph Colitz vice president and Dennis Beauregard Midwest district manager.
