Prices for crude oil and natural gas feedstocks soared in the first half of the 2008 before crashing to earth in the second. North American resin demand hung in there for most of the first half before giving up the ghost as summer receded. All of this made life challenging for resin buyers like Jerry Esposito and for consultants such as Sam Beasley, both of whom spoke PN's Executive Forum.
