GERMANTOWN, WIS. (Aug. 24, 3:35 p.m. ET) — Molder and mold maker MGS Manufacturing Group Inc. has opened its first plant outside North America, a 45,000-square-foot facility in Leixlip, Ireland, making products for a range of customers.

MGS Manufacturing Group Ltd. is located in a town just west of Dublin, and will eventually have 24 electric injection molding machines ranging in size from 100 to 350 tons of clamping force. It already has 20 employees and launched production in June, the company announced in an Aug. 24 news release.

MGS has manufacturing at its headquarters in Germantown, Wis., along with plants Chicago and Chihuahua, Mexico. The company recently opened an engineering and sales office in Shenzhen, China.

In Ireland, the company will focus on parts for the computer and electronics market along with healthcare and consumer products. The site eventually will house a Class 8 clean room for molding and assembly.

The Irish facility also will have an on-site tool shop to support on-site production and preventative maintenance as well as inspect incoming transfer molds. MGS will also offer mold maintenance service to area original equipment manufacturers.
