HAMBURG, N.Y. (Dec. 14, 2:10 p.m. ET) — K&H Industries Inc. has purchased Pennsylvania’s Sunlite Safety Products LLC and its emergency portable light, and is bringing production of the light to the U.S. from China.

K&H, a molder and maker of emergency products including portable lights and electric extension lines, will bring both molds and stamping parts for the Sunlite product to its manufacturing base in Hamburg, N.Y., the company said in a Dec. 12 press release. The businesses did not disclose a purchase price.

The light will be marketed as the HazLoc Lantern, a name change from Carbondale, Pa.-based Sunlite’s Rechargeable LED Hazardous Location Lantern.

The light is used in underground utility maintenance locations, at gas and pipeline inspection spots and for maintenance at refineries, oil rigs and in off-shore drilling. It uses ABS for the body and polycarbonate for the lens.
