TAMPA, FLA. (Feb. 1, 10:15 a.m. ET) — Steinwall Inc. of Coon Rapids, Minn., is Plastics News’ latest Processor of the Year, the newspaper announced at a Jan. 31 ceremony and reception during its Executive Forum.

Steinwall, a custom injection molder, makes parts for a range of markets, including vehicles for agricultural and lawn and garden, appliances, computers, consumer goods, recreation and medical.

Under owner Maureen Steinwall, the company has earned a reputation as a pioneer in employ training, through its video work instructions at the press. Steinwall also developed an extensive series of orientation videos for new employees.

Steinwall was a finalist for last year’s Processor of the Year Award.

Robert Grace, Plastics News’ associate publisher and editorial and conference director, announced the winner. The Plastics News Executive Forum was held Jan. 29-Feb. 1. at Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa.

Executives from each finalist company also participated in a best-practices panel discussion on the final day of the forum.

Officials from Steinwall and the two other finalists attended the event in Tampa. The other finalists are: Bemis Manufacturing Co. of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., and Rodon Group LLC of Hatfield, Pa.

The Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. sponsored the award.

Plante & Moran Corporate Finance helped the judges analyze the financial performance of the finalists.

Senior reporter Bill Bregar, who co-coordinates the Processor of the Year Award, visited all three finalists. The judges are members of the newspaper’s editorial staff.
