SANTA ANA, CALIF. (Feb. 28, 11:15 p.m. ET) — Moulds Plus International, the producer of Ultra Purge, recently expanded its operations with the opening of a sales and production facility in Ipero’, San Paulo , Brazil.

“We’re actually producing all grades and all product lines in San Paulo,” said Graziano Pestarino, president of Moulds Plus International USA Inc., in a telephone interview.

He said that in the past, they’ve sold their product in Brazil through a distributor, but that by locating a facility in Brazil it makes the company much more competitive in the local market.

“We are very focused on the Brazilian market first of all,” said Pestarino.

However, with five production people plus another six sales personnel, he expected that the operation could grow regionally as well. The Brazil operation occupies about 2,000 square feet and has plenty of available warehouse space nearby.

Moulds Plus is headquartered in Villalvernia, Italy. It opened a facility in Santa Ana, Calif. jn 2005 to handle the North American market, and in Mexico City in 2006 for Mexico and Central America. The company also has various distribution agreements for China, India and Russia.

Ultra Purge compounds are used in many different processes to clean screws, barrels and hot runners.
