Struktol Co. of America will launch a new line of lubricants for rigid PVC at the NPE trade show in Orlando, Fla., April 1-5, at Booth 31017.

The Stow, Ohio, firm says it has expanded its V Series of lubricant additives for rigid PVC in calendered and extruded sheet and profiles.

Struktol VLB 602 is a combination of internal and external lubricants aimed at clear extrusions, especially those to be printed, laminated or bonded, as in packaging.

“VLB 602 provides compounders and processors with a cost-effective, versatile lubricant that can replace higher cost packages or single-component lubricants,” says Mike Fulmer, product manager for plastic additives at Struktol.

Also new is a vegetable based lubricant, VLB 618, for processors demanding non-animal based additives but wanting the same processing and visual properties of VLB 602.

Struktol’s other product extensions include VLB 701, a blend of complex esters and metal soaps for internal lubrication and external release in clear calendered sheet, and SA 0720, an additive for rigid PVC extrusions requiring a matte finish. Struktol claims the latter at loading levels of 3 percent or less is an effective alternative to more costly polymeric surface modifiers.
