Engel hits milestone for Viper robots

Engel Austria GmbH has delivered its one thousandth Viper robot, to Seletec Plastic Products GmbH & Co. KG in Uttendorf, Austria.

Seletec will use the robot to handle inserts and prefabricated parts. The company has used Engel injection presses since the 1980s, with an emphasis on automation for new projects.

The Viper 40 robot was part of an Engel Duo injection molding machine. Seletec will use the the new press to make technical parts for a range of applications, including housing components with metal threads.

Engel Austria is based in Schwertberg, Austria. The company’s North American operation, Engel Machinery Inc., is in York, Pa.
