ORLANDO, FLA. (March 9, 2:20 p.m. ET) — If voting in the primary election doesn’t satisfy your desire to express your democratic duty, make your vote count in the International Plastics Design Competition.

All 32 entries — from a chair made from recycled bottles to an ice cube tray made of polypropylene and Oshenite to a nylon contraption that zests citrus — can be viewed at www.plasticsdesign.org, where you can browse photos and descriptions of the newest plastic innovations.

Once you’ve narrowed it down, vote for your favorite design in the “People’s Choice” category. Other award winners will be selected by a panel of nine industry professionals based in six countries.

This is the second year the competition will take place.

Winners will be announced during NPE2012, held April 1-5 in Orlando, Fla., where products will be on display in the IPDC pavilion, booth 21062 in the North-South building of the Orange County Convention Center.
