NEW CASTLE, PA. (March 14, 2:10 p.m. ET) — Velocity Equipment Solutions LLC recently opened a new hub facility in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. to serve the West Coast blow molding market.

The West Coast Sales and Distribution Center, located near Los Angeles, will allow the company to expand its shipping capabilities and meet client demands faster.

With the new hub, Velocity can now ship parts from 4 a.m. PST to 8 p.m. EST to any of its customers, said Adam Brunke, client services manager, by phone.

Previously, Velocity could ship from its headquarters in New Castle, Pa., and from a warehouse in the United Kingdom. The company operates a 24-hour parts and service line, but when clients needed last-minute or emergency parts, the limited shipping schedule caused problems, Brunke said.

The new hub will also attract new clients. Other companies that used to have distribution centers on the West Coast have since exited the region, leaving a hole, he said.

“I think we’ll have a real convenience, a time saver for our customers,” he added.

Miguel Garcia will be the Western Regional sales representative.

Velocity was created in 2010 when an investment group, formed by the former management team of Portola Packaging Inc.’s equipment division and the Mistequay Group Ltd., bought out Portola’s equipment division, including Portola Blow Mold Technologies.
