Novatec Inc.’s Filter Dust Collector units provide a higher level of vacuum pump protection than standard cyclone dust collectors.

Three polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coated cartridge filters are 99 percent efficient down to 1 micron. Jim Zinski, Novatec’s senior vice president of system design, said the remove more fines than standard cartridge filters, while minimizing clogging.

FDC Series 50 and 124 are suitable for us with conveying lines from two to four inches outside diameter. Filter areas are 15 to 24 percent larger than competitive models.

The cartridge filters separate the dust from the airstream, allowing maximum dust release and minimizing the amount of particles that remain on the cartridges. An internal material deflector/flapper check valve deflects incoming material away from the filters.

Fines are emptied via a quick-disconnect catch bin with cradle support.

Novatec is based in Baltimore.
