ORLANDO, FLA. (March 23, 12:30 p.m. ET) — Independent safety science company UL, Underwriters Laboratories, will offer free 15-minute consultations at their booth for attendees at NPE2012 in Orlando.

Northbrook, Ill.-based UL conducts testing for certification and standards and will have technical experts on site to answer any questions.

“Our consultations are for any plastics customer to know how to go through the process and get certification and get information on our programs,” Wanda Sitar, marketing manager for UL’s Global Chemicals Industry, said. “[Companies] can benefit from getting their questions answered.”

In addition to one-on-one consultations, the firm will give presentations in the Technology Theatre in the Orange County Convention Center to discuss issues and provide insights from panels of UL experts for companies in the plastics industry.

Topics to be discussed include: “The Metamorphosis of Plastics and Consequential Challenges,” held April 2 from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m.; “Positioning Your Materials for Emerging Technologies,” on April 3 at 1:00 to 1:30 p.m.; “A New Era in Packaging,” on April 4 at 3:00 to 3:30 p.m.; and “Architecting the Future of Plastics,” on April 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

“We hope our presentations will help spark dialog among attendees on how to avoid innovation pitfalls, maximize opportunities to global access, and find efficiencies in the supply chain through certification,” said Manish Bhatnagar, general manager of UL Global Chemicals Industry in a news release.
