ORLANDO, FLA. (April 4, 7:50 a.m. ET) — Uniloy Milacron will open a 15,000-square-foot research and development facility, dubbed Uniloy University, in the fourth quarter of this year at the blow molding machinery company’s headquarters in Tecumseh, Mich.

The production laboratory will include the latest UR70 series, as well as Uniloy’s 350 series machines, used for both R&D and training programs. The dedicated lab nearly triples the size of the previous facility.

“Our goal is to create an environment that fosters blow molding innovation,” said Dave Skala, Uniloy’s vice president and general manager. “This new facility was designed from the ground up to meet nearly every conceivable need and give our customers and partners a place to learn and grow the science of blow molding.”

Customers will be able to run trials, do production feasibility studies, and move from concept to commercialization in blow molding.

To ensure the protection of intellectual property, the center will have its own its own separate, secured entrance.
