ORLANDO, FLA. (April 5, 7 p.m. ET) — The Society of Plastics Engineers’ Mold Making and Mold Design Division is honoring a pair of mold makers with credentials in education along with engineering capabilities.

Robert Novak was named Mold Maker of the Year during NPE2012 and Antec 2012 in Orlando, while Barbara Arnold-Feret was named Mold Designer of the Year.

Novak is the mold making and mold design program chairman at Waukesha County Technical College in Pewaukee, Wis., and a veteran mold maker.

Novak has provided extensive guidance to mold making and mold design students and apprentices in the Milwaukee area.

SPE will present a $500 honorarium in his name to the school of his choice. D-M-E Corp. provides the grant to honor the Mold Maker of the Year.

Arnold-Feret of suburban Fort Worth Texas, has worked extensively in design and manufacturing for rotational molding as well as production in other processes, starting with her father’s firm and continuing from there to multiple companies. She is currently a consultant with Parts Ltd. From 2006 to 2011, she was general manager of Enviro Plastics Inc. of Fort Worth.

She has also worked extensively with various educational organizations in the Dallas and Fort Worth area. She is the first person to receive the design award whose career was not focused on injection molding.

The $500 honorarium in Arnold-Feret’s name for a school of her choice was provided by Progressive Components International Corp.
