ORLANDO, FLA.(April 5, 5:25 p.m. ET) — Yushin America Inc (Booth 1563) is introducing the mid-sized YC/YCII series of robots at NPE2012, which succeeds Yushin’s YA/YAII series.

Features of the new line of robots include design optimization, vibration suppression and carbon-fiber plastic. The robot’s carbon fiber reinforced plastic dampens vibration.

The YCII is 25 percent lighter than its predecessor. That makes it more energy efficient and longer lasting, according to Yushin.

The newly patented ECO Vacuum reduces compressed air consumption by up to 75 percent, because it monitors and shuts off the air supply when adequate gripping power has been established.

This week, the YC-series robot is mounted on a 180-ton Sumitomo injection press, molding a desk stand. The press is interfaced with a pad printer and a heat tunnel, with the robot moving it along.

A second molding cell is showcasing Yushin’s double-main arm RCII-series robot on a Maruka press, molding and assembling the toy robot that was created for the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc.’s Fantastic Plastics exhibit at the Epcot theme park at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Yushin’s new HSA top-entry robot is super-fast, boasting a 0.32-second takeout time. HSA robots are designed for small presses, of 100-300 tons.

Yushin engineers worked closely with Kyoto University’s Graduate School of Engineering in Japan.
