K-Tron International Inc. the Pitman, N.J.-based maker of material handling equipment, feeders, loaders, blenders and screening and separation equipment, introduced several new products and product line expansions at NPE2012:

• The K-Tron Filtair series of filter receivers, does automatic material-from-air separation. The tangential inlet on the hopper provides a cyclonic separation of the material from the air stream. Any remaining airborne material is trapped by the filter element. Timed pulses of compressed air cleans the filter bags or cartridges, dropping the material into the hopper

•  K-Tron has added venturi loaders to the Series 2400 of vacuum sequencing central receivers. The new design includes several types of discharge valves, including gravity flap, orifice slide gate and butterfly valve. The 2400 venturi loaders offer conveying rate of up to 1,600 pounds an hour.

• The company has increased the level of connectivity to its SmartConnex feeder controls, which now can be accessed via standard web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Also, by using a wireless router, feeder access and data retrieval can be made through smart devices like the iPhone and IPad.
