Flexible packaging equipment maker CMD Corp. used NPE2012 to debut its Global Bag Machine and Winder, model 0864GBW. The machine makes perforation-connected bags on coreless rolls.
The bag machine uses CMD’s continuous-motion technology, so it provides a wider processing window that traditional intermittent-motion, or shuttle-style bag makers. It seals a wide variety of film structures and gauges. A drum-seal design allows for fast and simple changeovers. The seal drum is infinitely adjustable, so converters have the flexibility they need to run a range of sizes.
CMD, of Appleton, Wis., also introduced the Global Drawtape Bagmaking System, boasting production speeds up to 183 meters per minute. The compact footprint saves floor space. The line is easy to thread-up and operate.
The drawtape production line can be configured with the Model 0330HSW, the Global Highspeed Winder, which CMD demonstrated during NPE2012.
During the trade show, the company handed out free sample rolls of bags.
