Trexel sets up subsidiary in China

WILMINGTON, MASS. (Aug. 28, 11:30 a.m. ET) — American foam molding technology firm Trexel Inc. said Aug. 28 that it is setting up a subsidiary in China, including a technical center in Shanghai and an office in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.

“The interest and the adoption of state of the art processing technologies such as [Trexel’s] MuCell process are rapidly gaining in significance, not only with global companies operating inside China but also with Chinese owned companies,” said Steve Braig, president and CEO of the Wilmington, Mass-based firm.

Roger Cheng, the technical manager of Trexel’s Hong Kong office, will be general manager of Trexel (Shenzhen) Technology Co. Ltd. The Hong Kong unit will support Australia and Southeast Asia, the company said.
