PALO ALTO, CALIF. (Sept. 10, 4:45 p.m. ET) — Bill Moggridge, the industrial designer who designed the first laptop computer and was part of the movement to create tighter connections between the plastics and design industries, has died. Moggridge was a co-founder of the global design group IDEO, based in Palo Alto — a company that has worked with multiple plastics companies since it launched in 1991.
