Mauser opens plant in China

BRÜHL, GERMANY (Sept. 12, 11:45 a.m. ET) — Industrial packaging company Mauser AG has opened a plant in Jiangyin, China, and named Christian Schaedlich as its SBU manager for the Asia Pacific market.

The 15 million euro ($19.3 million) plant in Jiangyin will make intermediate bulk containers, open-top drums and steel drums. The company claims it is the only plant in China that makes polyethylene and steel drums and IBCs.

Schaedlich, who will be based in Shanghai, succeeds Hans-Peter Schaefer, who was appointed CEO of Mauser in February.

Prior to joining Brühl-based Mauser, Schaedlich was chief financial officer at Wacker Chemicals in Greater China.
