ROCKFORD, ILL. (Sept. 14, 1:40 p.m. ET) — Point-of-purchase display maker Southern Imperial Inc. has acquired Sunbelt Plastic Extrusions Inc. for an undisclosed price.

Sunbelt makes a variety of extruded plastic products, including signs, price rails, display panels and aisle directories at its 43,000-square-foot plant in Centerville, Ga. That plant will continue to operate, Southern Imperial officials said in a Sept. 13 news release.

Sunbelt, which opened in 1981, can make panels up to 32 inches wide and also has co-extrusion and fabrication capabilities. Sunbelt’s Wayne Williamson — who owns the firm along with his brother, James — said the deal “is great for our employees.”

Sunbelt has been a supplier of extruded products to Southern Imperial for almost 10 years. Sunbelt makes extruded products from several resins, with the bulk of its work in polystyrene and PVC. The firm employs 65.

Rockford-based Southern Imperial is a supplier of POP fixtures and supply solutions. The employee-owned firm has its own facilities in the U.S., Canada and China, and works with distributors around the world.
