CHIPPEWA FALLS, WIS. (Sept. 17, 7:15 p.m. ET) — Nordson Corp. has brought in one if its veterans to become top executive of Extrusion Dies Industries, which it purchased in May.

Nordson announced Sept. 17 that Godfrey Sandham has become vice president and general manager of EDI. He will relocate from his native England to EDI headquarters in Chippewa Falls. He will oversee the integration of EDI into Nordson, and coordinate EDI with a Belgian flat-die maker Nordson bought in 2011, called Constructiewerkhuizen G. Verbruggen NV.

EDI makes flat dies and fluid coating dies.

Nordson is based in Westlake, Ohio.

Sandham brings extensive international experience to EDI. In 1998, Sandham joined Nordson EFD, which manufactures precision fluid dispensing equipment for adhesives, sealants, lubricants and other fluids. Before coming to EDI, he was president of EFD International Inc., managing director of EFD operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and director of Nordson Germany. He also was a member of Nordson EFD LLC’s executive staff.

He is credited with building a pan-European business for Nordson EFD through acquisitions, mergers, geographic expansion and new business development.

Before joining Nordson, Sandham spent 20 years in the petrochemical industry working with lubricants, hot melts, coatings, solvents, chemicals and oilfield products.

Gary Edwards, former CEO of EDI, will leave the company in December to pursue other opportunities, Edwards will work with Sandham to make a smooth transition, Nordson said.

Another former EDI executive, Christopher Curtin, who was vice chairman of commercial activities at the flat-die maker, recently left EDI to join extrusion line maker Processing Technologies International LLC as vice president of international sales.
