Obituary: J. Allan Overfield, long-time machinery engineer

SEBRING, FLA. (Sept. 21, 1:15 p.m. ET) — J. Allan Overfield of Sebring, an engineer with expertise in plastics and die-casting machinery who worked at HPM Corp. and Epco Machinery LLC, died Sept. 7 at the Willows of Bellevue in Bellevue, Ohio. He was 80.

Overfield’s career covered more than 40 years.

He was an engineer and sales manager at machinery maker HPM in Mount Gilead, Ohio, from the late 1950s to 1970. From 1970 until he retired in 1997, he worked at Epco, an equipment rebuilder then located in Fremont, Ohio.

His positions at Epco included vice president, and when he retired, regional sales manager.

A memorial service will be held Nov. 12 at Sebring Parkway Church of Christ.
