HUDSON, WIS. (Sept. 24, 1:10 p.m. ET) — To serve its growing drug delivery and pharmaceutical business, contract manufacturer and injection molder Phillips-Medisize Corp. is adding cold chain storage capabilities, a Class 8 clean room assembly space, and on-site analytical testing to its medical complex in Menomonie, Wis.

The 25,000 square foot expansion—expected to be operational in April—will increase the size of the company’s Menonomie campus to more than 200,000 square feet.

Cold chain storage is used in drug delivery and pharmaceutical markets to support the life science supply chain for products that require storage and handling in the temperature range of 2-8° C. The new cold chain storage system will hold temperatures constant to within +/- 0.5° C.

Matt Jennings, CEO and president of the Hudson-based company, announced the expansion Sept. 24

Medisize has annual sales of nearly $500 million, with 75 percent coming from drug delivery, medical device and diagnostic products.
