Diamond-coated blade designed for long life

Published: October 10, 2012 6:00 am ET

Dessau International of Fair Lawn, N.J., has developed a diamond-coated razor blade, for slitting all types of film and other plastics products.

Because of the extreme hardness of the diamond, the blades have extraordinarily long lifetimes, giving lower long-term blade costs.

The blades give burr-free and very smooth cuts. The cutting edge is chemically stable, which prevents any material from adhering to the blade.
