SONOMA, CALIF. (Oct. 10, 8:40 a.m. ET) — The PET recycling rate in 2011 inched up just two-tenths of a percentage point to 29.3 percent — the eighth straight year the rate has increased. But NAPCOR's annual recycling report also revealed a major issue: PET recycling capacity in the United States now exceeds the total amount of PET recycled by 10 percent.
