FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, GERMANY (Oct. 24, 11:30 a.m. ET) — The number of visitors to the Fakuma plastics trade fair in Germany dipped 1.5 percent this year, compared with the event’s turnout in 2011.

Schall, the company which organizes Fakuma, held in the small German town of Friedrichshafen in southern Germany, said that 44,176 visitors attended the trade show last week, compared with 44,823 last year.

The group said roughly 1,700 companies exhibited at Fakuma this year, vs. 1,670 in 2011.

Nearly a third of this year’s visitors came from outside Germany, up one percentage point on 2011’s showing, Schall said in a statement.

With the K show running in Düsseldorf, Germany, next year, the next Fakuma will run at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Center from Oct. 14-18, 2014.
