FRIEDICHSHAFEN, GERMANY  (Oct. 25, 11:35 a.m. ET) — Playmobil toys appear under Christmas trees worldwide. Christmas came early for Wittmann Battenfeld GmbH when the company sold 14 multicomponent injection presses to Geobra Brandstätter GmbH & Co. KG at the Fakuma trade show.

Wittmann Battenfeld announced that Geobra Brandstätter ordered 14 three-component machines on Oct. 18, the third day of the 2012 Fakuma in Friedrichshafen. The order comes after the Playmobil maker purchased 30 Wittmann Battenfeld presses in last year, complete with robots, conveyor systems and auxiliary equipment.

The 14 three-component machines just ordered will be installed at Geobra’s main factory in Dietenhofen, Germany, by the end of the first quarter of 2013.

Wittmann Battenfeld is based in Kottingbrunn, Austria.

The German toymaker resumed its tradition of placing big orders at Fakuma. The Playmobil manufacturer bought 14 small-tonnage injection presses from Dr. Boy GmbH & Co. KG just before the start of Fakuma in 2006.

The blockbuster deal of recent years came at the 2005 Fakuma, when Geobra Brandstätter gobbled up 84 injection presses from three other German nameplates — Ferromatik Milacron, KraussMaffei and Battenfeld.
