MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA (Oct. 31, 11:40 a.m. ET) — Plantic Technologies Ltd., an Australian manufacturer of biomaterials, is set to use high-barrier films from Linpac Packaging as part of an exclusive distribution agreement.

Under the terms of the deal, Plantic will use Linpac films, under the Plantic Clear Seal trade name, as lidding material.

Plantic’s biomaterials are based on high-amylose corn starch. It has operations in Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States and provides packaging for fresh meat, poultry and pasta.

The company says the deal with Linpac will allow it to leverage its products in Australia and the Americas.
