Stabilizer prolongs life of greenhouse films

Clariant announces an innovation that prolongs the life of greenhouse films.

The Muttenz, Switzerland, firm says its Hostavin Now technology achieves outstanding UV protection and withstands aggressive agrochemicals such as sulfur and halogenated chemicals. These aggressive factors reduce the service life of greenhouse films.

Hostavin Now is a light stabilizer based on amino-ether hindered amines, which Clariant says outperform standard hindered amines.

Clariant can customize the new class of light stabilizers in an easy-to-handle granulated form. Clariant claims its solutions offer improved and safer processing versus standard light stabilizers.

Clariant is unveiling the new technology at the AMI 2012 Agricultural Films conference in Madrid, Spain, from Nov.6-8.
