WINCHESTER, VA. (Nov. 9, 12:05 p.m. ET) — Composite decking manufacturer Trex Co. Inc. has extended its Trex brand with a product line aimed at the do-it-yourself market.
The Winchester, Va., company said its new Trex Select decking and railing system — which it introduced Nov. 1 — offers the same performance of its Trex brand but at a lower price point.
"Trex Select rounds out the Trex product portfolio with features that appeal to DIY homeowners who also seek a high-performance deck with durability and luxurious looks,” said Ron Kaplan, chairman, president and CEO of Trex.
Trex Select decking is a capped wood-plastic composite product made from 95 percent recycled content — reclaimed wood, sawdust and plastics. Trex Select railing is made from Fibrex, a material that contains 40 percent reclaimed wood fiber by weight.
