MUNICH, GERMANY (Nov. 12, 12:45 p.m. ET) — Baerlocher GmbH, the German producer of PVC stabilizers, has opened a new production facility in Changzhou, in Jiangsu province, China.

The plant, which is wholly owned by Baerlocher, has the capacity to produce 40,000 metric tons per year of calcium-based and lead-based-stabilizer systems. The operation is supported by an application laboratory.

The plant officially opened on Oct. 19, with speeches by Baerlocher officials and Huang Lianxi, chairman of China Liansu Group Holdings, the largest manufacturer of plastic pipes and fittings in China.

Baerlocher did not reveal the size of the investment in the new facility.

The group also has a joint venture in Jiangsu province, Jiangsu U&B, which manufactures liquid mixed metal stabilizers for the local market.
