STAMFORD, CONN. (Nov. 19, 1:10 p.m. ET) — As promised, Nestle Waters North America Inc. is beginning to incorporate a high percent of recycled PET into some of its Arrowhead brand water bottles that are made near the $58 million CarbonLite Industries LLC PET bottle-to-bottle food-grade PET recycling plant in Riverside, Calif., that opened earlier this year.

Stamford-based Nestle announced Nov. 9 that its one-half liter Arrowhead bottles would contain 50 percent recycled PET and be labeled Arrowhead ReBorn.

When the CarbonLite plant opened in February, Nestle agreed to purchase one-third of the plant’s output, so it could incorporate 50 percent recycled content into its Arrowhead brand of bottled spring water, which is bottled at its plant in Cabazon, Calif., some 40 miles away.

Nestle also incorporates 50 percent recycled content into its Deer Pack brand water bottles packaged on the East Coast in Breinigsville, Pa.
