Milacron LLC has introduced what it calls the industry’s first Interactive Technical Manual, for laptops and tablet computers.

The ITM gives technicians instant access to detailed information about their plant equipment. With just a few clicks, they can troubleshoot an issue, determine a possible solution and order replacement parts from ServTek, Milacron’s global aftermarket parts and service division.

The ITM is now standard with all new Magna T Servo injection molding presses. The Cincinnati-based machinery company plans to roll out more press platforms in early 2013.

The interactive machine hydraulic schematics show a graphical representation of each functional cycle stage. Troubleshooting flow diagrams help technicians determine which component is creating the problem, offer recommendations for resolving the issue and help determine the correct part number.

Milacron and ServTek worked together to create the Interactive Technical Manual. The collaboration also will lead to future integration of online parts ordering through ServTek.com.
