ROMULUS, MICH. (Nov. 27, 10 a.m. ET)  — Thermoplastic elastomers distributor Alliance Polymers & Services LLC will begin making its own proprietary compounds by the end of the year.

Romulus-based Alliance will make compounds based on thermoplastic vulcanizates and styrene ethylene butylene styrene (SEBS) copolymers. The TPV products will be sold under the Viprene trade name, while Styflex will be the trade name used for the company’s SEBS materials.

Alliance will continue to distribute Elastollan-brand thermoplastic polyurethanes for BASF Corp. and Maxelast-brand TPEs for Polymax Ltd.

“Offering our own branded products was a natural progression, with informal research indicating the market as well as our customers and prospects would welcome this new addition in the TPE marketplace,” Alliance owners Stephane Morin and Roger Huarng said in a news release.
