BROADVIEW, ILL. (Nov. 28, 3:35 p.m. ET) — Star Thermoplastic Alloys & Rubbers Inc. has commercialized a new hard grade of thermoplastic elastomer compound.
The new Starflex H grade is hard yet flexible, officials said, and can be used in place of rubber or thermoplastic vulcanizates in applications ranging from hinges to tool cases to bookends.
Broadview, Ill.-based Star also recently completed a 5,000-square-foot expansion of its Broadview plant. The facility now covers more than 50,000 square feet.
