OCONOMOWOC, WIS. (Dec. 3, 10:35 a.m. ET) — Premold Corp. has started building an addition to its Oconomowoc factory that will double the size of the facility, according to vice president Doug Culbertson.
Construction on the 38 000-square-foot expansion began in October and is expected to be completed in March, he said.
The reaction injection molder of polyurethane products is adding space in anticipation of growth within the medical device and life sciences fields.
Premold is focusing on completing construction before it looks to machinery and personnel.
“We have had steady growth for the past 10 years,” Culbertson said. “We expect growth over the next 10 years.”
The site will total 68 000 square feet when completed, he said, and Premold expects to be able to keep up with growth.
Premold’s latest expansion follows others completed over the years. In 2001 the company built a 20 000-square-foot building to boost production capacity, according to information on its website. Five years later it completed a 10,000-square-foot expansion of the facility. The manufacturer also added equipment along the way.
The company specializes in RIM and short-run production, tool making, molding, painting, decorating and assembly of RIM parts.
