3D Printing and prototyper Objet Ltd. has added rigid black material and rubber-like composites to its range of materials.

The Rehovot, Israel, firm says the new black material gives enhanced dimensional stability and surface smoothness, suitable for fine details and all-purpose prototyping.

The firm also says based on the new rigid black, it is introducing16 new rigid black and rubber-like digital materials that are composites based on the two types of materials.

These new Connex materials feature a higher range of toughness, simulating polypropylene and offer a range of flexible compounds with Shore A values from 27 to 85.

Object says its product extensions are suited to prototype seals and packaging, consumer electronics and auto parts where rigid and flexible properties are needed in one prototype in black.
