WUHU, CHINA (Dec. 5, 9:25 a.m. ET) — Chinese profile extruder Wuhu Conch Profiles and Science Co. Ltd. has added 24 extrusion lines from Austria’s Battenfeld-Cincinnati Group, bringing Wuhu's annual PVC processing capacity to more than 700,000 metric tons.

The Wuhu, Anhui-based company is the world’s largest window profile manufacturer, according to a statement from Vienna-based Battenfeld-Cincinnati. It has had the 24 additional lines, with diameters from 63 to 93 mm and outputs from 70 to 380 kilograms per hour, operating since the middle of the year.

The company has about 400 extrusion lines in total at several factories in China, including in Wuhu, Ningbo, Tangshan and Yingde.

The statement from Battenfeld-Cincinnati does not specify which Wuhu Conch factory the equipment was put in but a photo distributed with the release shows company equipment at a Wuhu facility in Dongying, Shandong province.

Wuhu Conch said on its website it has 120 sales offices in China and exports its products to United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, Singapore, Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries.

The company said its profiles passed the standards of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association in the United States in 2007. Wuhu Conch, which is listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, said it’s the first company listed on a Chinese exchange that has plastic profiles as its principal business.
