Russian customer adds neck-cutting machines

December 5, 2012

MAER S.A., which makes neck-cutting machines for bottles and jars in Girona, Spain, has sold four complete production to a customer in Kazan, Russia, including jar-blow molding units, bulk package conveyors to storage silos and positioning machines that feed the four MAER model WM500 TC10 rotary cutters.

The units can cut 14,000 bottles per hour.

MAER does not name the customer in its press release. But the company said wide-mouth PET jars for products such as mayonnaises and sauces benefit from “blow-trim” type equipment for improving speed, reduces costs of materials and allows the use of market-standard blown preforms in the same mold.
